Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to oversee the design, installation, inspection, maintenance, and structural safety of our glamping tents and associated infrastructure. The role involves ensuring that all tent structures, decks, foundations, platforms, utility supports, and related facilities meet engineering standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements while maintaining the premium guest experience expected at our properties.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Engineering
• Design and review structural systems for glamping tents, platforms, decks, foundations, and ancillary structures.
• Verify structural calculations for wind loads, rain loads, seismic considerations, and terrain-specific conditions.
• Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all structures comply with applicable building codes and safety standards.
Installation & Project Execution
• Supervise the installation and erection of glamping tents and structural components.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, architects, fabric suppliers, and project teams.
• Monitor construction quality and adherence to engineering specifications.
• Resolve on-site structural challenges and provide technical guidance.
Inspection & Maintenance
• Conduct regular structural inspections of tents, platforms, decks, and supporting systems.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules for all structural assets.
• Identify structural defects, wear and tear, corrosion, foundation settlement, or fabric support issues.
• Recommend and oversee repair, reinforcement, or replacement activities.
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure structural safety of all guest accommodations and common areas.
• Conduct risk assessments before property opening and during operations.
• Maintain compliance with local statutory regulations and safety requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports, certifications, and documentation for audits.
Asset Management
• Maintain records of structural drawings, maintenance history, inspection reports, and warranties.
• Monitor the lifecycle of structural components and recommend upgrades or replacements.
• Assist in budgeting for structural maintenance and capital improvements.
Vendor & Contractor Management
• Evaluate structural vendors and contractors.
• Review contractor work for quality and compliance.
• Ensure timely completion of structural projects within budget.
Continuous Improvement
• Research new structural materials, modular systems, and innovative glamping construction methods.
• Recommend improvements to increase durability, sustainability, and guest safety.
• Support expansion projects and new site developments.


Job Expectations:

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Master's degree is an advantage.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer certification is preferred.
Experience
• 4–8 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Experience with lightweight steel structures, tensile structures, prefabricated buildings, modular construction, or hospitality projects is highly preferred.
• Experience in resort, outdoor hospitality, eco-tourism, or glamping projects is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
• Structural analysis and design.
• Steel and aluminum structural systems.
• Foundation design.
• Wind load and seismic design.
• AutoCAD.
• STAAD Pro / ETABS / SAP2000 or equivalent structural analysis software.
• MS Project and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations.
